    Save space on your phone for some fantastic pictures. Lancaster is a historical town full of beautiful old buildings - set a bit of time aside at the end of the day to have a look around!

Booking & attendance

Do I have to book to attend an open day?

Yes, you will need to book a place on our open day. Please click on the Book Now button above.

Will I receive confirmation of my booking?

Once you've completed your booking, you'll receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite. We'll also send you a reminder email closer to the time.

Do I need to let you know of any changes to my booking?

Please do let us know if you can no longer make it to the open day. We can get you booked onto an alternative open day or a campus tour.

Can I bring guests with me?

Yes, we really encourage you to take advice from your parents, family and friends, who will be supporting and helping you throughout your applicant journey. We encourage you to bring them along so they get involved in the day too.

Where can I eat on the day?

Complimentary refreshments will be available throughout the open day, but if you fancy something more, grab a bite to eat in one of our catering outlets, they are a welcoming space to gather with friends over a coffee or lunch.

You can also enjoy some tasty treats or a light lunch in Café Martineau located next to the Alexandra building.

The View Restaurant has an excellent selection of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks. It's located on the top floor of the Gateway building and, as the name suggests, has amazing views over Morecambe Bay!

What if I can't make the date?

Don’t worry, if you can't make it to one of our open days, you can book onto one of our campus tours, with an opportunity to learn more about UoC, speak to a student ambassador and have a really good look around.

Travel & access

Traveling by train

Lancaster railway station is approximately a 25-minute walk from campus. Taxis are readily available at the station.

Traveling by car

The postcode for sat navs is LA1 3JD.

From the North: Leaving the M6 at junction 34, take the A683 towards Lancaster/Morecambe. Turn left onto the Lune Valley interchange/A683. Continue slightly left at the next traffic lights onto Caton Road. At the second set of traffic lights turn left and follow the one-way system through the city centre up to Pointer roundabout (just past the Royal Lancaster infirmary). Here, take the first exit onto Bowerham Road. The campus entrance is located on your left.

From the South: Leaving the M6 at junction 33, take the A6 to Lancaster (South). At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Lancaster Road/A6. Continue towards the city centre. Turn right onto Barton Road just after the BP garage. Follow this road and continue onto Bowerham Road. Go straight across the mini roundabout and follow Bowerham Road down to the campus entrance, which is on your right hand side.

Talks & tours

Campus and accommodation tours

Our student ambassadors will be on hand throughout the day to take you on a tour of our lovely Lancaster campus and our range of student accommodation. It's the perfect chance to pick their brains about what it's really like being a student at the University of Cumbria!

There is usually an accommodation tour every hour and a campus tour every half hour.

Subject specific talks and interactive sessions

These are brilliant opportunities to delve deeper into our courses. Our passionate staff will introduce you to the subjects and the departments - you'll even be able to take part in a taster session!

Information fair

Information stands and talks for our academic and support services will be available throughout the day. Our staff will be on hand to provide information and answer your questions about:

When you study with the University of Cumbria, you will have access to advice about your course, academic skills development, your wellbeing, university life in general and your future career direction. Support is provided in a number of ways; it can be online, by phone or if you need it, in person.
