As children mature to adults they experience physical, psychological and behavioural changes which interact with their peers, family, education, work and community environments.
During this masterclass we will map the influences that protect, promote, are harmful or present barriers to health during transition of children to adulthood. We will then explore a number of key questions:
- Do differences in influences experienced by children narrow or widen as they transition into adulthood?
- Do young people have assets and developmental strengths that can be harnessed to offset their immediate negative environmental influences?
- What innovative interventions can be used to harness these strengths and promote healthy adult futures for children and young people?
The session will be delivered by a leading member of academic staff and has been designed for anyone who has an interest in pursuing a career in nursing.
You will be awarded 16 UCAS points** for attending this masterclass.
** NB. The reduction will be applied on application. Points cannot be redeemed retrospectively if you have already applied to the university; they can only be redeemed against University of Cumbria courses linked to the masterclass.
